Chanelle Kotze, is an established artist, who was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.
Since her early childhood days she has had a love for drawing and working in colour. She is completely self taught, and started her fulltime career in 2005, exhibiting her work in art galleries around South Africa. Her work consists of farm landscapes, abstracts and flower paintings, focusing on creating decorative paintings to enlighten homes.She works in the medium acrylic and mixed media. Her work could be described as large, naive style paintings done in very bold colors.
In 2005 she started painting fulltime , after giving up her bookkeeping career.
In 2007 she bought a small art gallery in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, selling it a year later, to spend more time with her then newborn daughter, Katya.
In 2008 she decided to create a greeting card range, to help raise profits for the Starfish Greatheart Foundation, selling them to Exclusive Books and PNA branches Nationally.
In 2009 she sold paintings Nationally and Internationally, through various art galleries. She held her first solo exhibition, and exhibited at various art and wine festivals.
In 2010 she created a second range of greeting cards, a landscape series art print range and a art print range for children's rooms.
In 2011 Chanelle started giving private art classes to children of all ages. She completed another greeting card collection for a company called Jade in June.
In 2012 Chanelle focused on discovering new techniques to use in her artwork. She created a range of illustrations for a childrens book and her very first range of art dvd tutorials. Her dvd range, teaches kids age 4 - 12yrs, how to draw and colour in.
"My philosophy in life is keeping it simple. Less is more. That applies to my work and to the rest of my life. Mostly my art expresses my way of
things. If I had to describe my work in one sentence , I would say it is my version of beauty.”
Chanelle is well known for her landscape series. Her name appears on more than a thousand works of art , proudly displayed in homes and offices locally and overseas.
“I truly feel blessed with all of my success up to now, and strongly believe it is due to faith, listening and following that inner voice, we all so desperately need to hear.''
She continues to produce pieces that have become a pleasure to so many homes.
